A Change In Plans

I very much wanted my second post to be one that described why I started this blog.

Unfortunately my thoughts do not come easy and I go through a lengthy process of writing and rewriting before achieving satisfaction.

I felt more good could be done by getting busy with the issues at hand rather than trying to craft a grand statement of intent.

So, here we go.

As I have already described I do not ascribe to any particular religious tradition. As such it is only natural that I believe that a secular government is a government that can best foster an environment of freedom and equality for all citizens.

There are some in the Christian community who disagree. They are commonly referred to using labels such as "Conservative Christians" and "The Religious Right."

While I do not disagree with all positions taken by CCakaTRR, I do disagree with most. Sadly my disagreement is so intense that I have developed strong feelings of animosity towards CCakaTRR.

I was pleasantly surprised today to find out that there are people professing the name of Christ with whom I share more common ground. Some of those people are represented by the folks at Christian Alliance For Progress.

Here is a quick link to where you can learn more about the Alliance.

On a related note here is what Rush Limbaugh reportedly said about groups like CAFP...

"The religious left in this country hates and despises the God of Christianity...".

Apparently it is not possible to be a Christian and be a liberal or a moderate.

That just goes to show that you can NEVER believe anything Rush L. says.

I would hope that your visit to CAP's website would instill just a little hope in you that not all Christians are judgemental jerks. Many of us are decent people who avoid Rush L. like the plague of narrow-mindedness that he is.
